Biography

James Crafford can be described as a naturalist, and artist. He spent his youth in a rural area of the Missouri Bootheel and on the banks of the Missouri River in St. Louis County.His childhood memories are filled with experiences in swamp, woodland, river, and pond habitats catching anything that moved for closer observation.

James is a self taught award winning and published artist. He has been drawing and painting since a very young age. Upon graduating high school he worked at Six Flags Over-Mid-America as a pastel, and watercolor portrait artist.

 James lived in SW Missouri for 20 years always drawing and painting. However, after moving to Florida opportunities allowed him to produce art on a new scale. Under contract he produced 71 pieces in 12 months and has not looked back he had his work displayed at Artemeisa Fine Art in Venice,FL. was accepted into the Best Artists in Florida Competition in Naples FL.

Then after moving back to Missouri four years later he has shown work in several galleries, art fairs, and public locations. There has been an increasing demand for his work . James has made it to a higher plateau.

 He works at his art most everyday in one manner or another. He is constantly doing a varity of styles and techniques, and sharpening his skills at figure drawing with weekly sessions. All in all this is the best time of his artistic endeavors. He is lucky enough to be able to do what burns in his heart.
